The Lee & The Chilterns
Small village. Rather a lot going on.
The Cock & Rabbit sits beside the village green in The Lee, a small Chiltern village with rather more going on than its size might suggest.
Surrounded by rolling countryside, woodland and some of the best walking in the Chilterns, it’s the sort of place where footpaths head off in almost every direction, cyclists regularly pass through and horses are a fairly normal sight.
The village itself has a strong sense of community, with the green, church and village hall still very much part of everyday life. There are fêtes, gatherings, walks and traditions that have been going for generations — along with plenty of reasons for everyone to end up in the same place afterwards.
And conveniently, there’s a pub in the middle of it all.

The Shop at The Lee & Parish Hall
Owned and run by the village, The Shop at The Lee is one of those places every village wishes it had — everyday essentials, locally sourced bread, meat and treats, and usually a bit of village news thrown in for free.
Saturday: 8am–1pm
Sunday: 7:30am–12pm
The Lee Cricket Club
Cricket has been played at Lee Manor Park since 1875, on what must be one of the loveliest village grounds around. There are Saturday league matches, Sunday friendlies and a thriving junior section.
Worth a wander over. Particularly on a sunny afternoon.
Lee Common Church of England School
A small village school at the heart of the local community, serving families in Lee Common and the surrounding area.
Another little part of everyday village life.
The Lee Tennis Court
The village tennis court sits beside The Lee Parish Hall and village shop and can be hired by the hour.
Handily, the pub isn’t far away for the post-match analysis.

We’re lucky to have some brilliant farmers, producers and independent businesses on our doorstep — and even luckier to be able to put what they produce on our tables.
From eggs and British beef to tea, cheese and wine, we work with local suppliers who care about what they produce as much as we care about what we serve.
Some have travelled considerably less distance to the pub than our customers.
